Hatch is where Pasifika youth aged 16-26 transform innovative ideas into commercial reality. Hatch’s unique learning approach has been developed to respond to the changing world we live in.
The programme combines tertiary educational opportunities through Hatch partner Massey University with a bespoke, intensive, wrap-around system, that leverages real world experience to support accelerated commercial growth and new and diverse leadership within our communities and Aotearoa.
Can I apply?
If you are a New Zealand resident of Pasifika descent between 16 – 26 years old and have an existing business, you can apply!
How much does it cost?
Nothing! If you are accepted to be part of Hatch, the only thing you need to be worried about is being committed to building a successful enterprise.
What are the key dates I need to know about?
Applications will open on 2 October but will close on 6 November, so make sure you apply now! We will be announcing the successful teams on 20 November and the programme will begin in February 2018.
How long does this programme take?
It will take 3 years. The first year is the more hands on time where you will be coached in every aspect of your business by our specialist team and experts. For the next two years, you will have quarterly health checks and sessions with our specialist team to ensure that you track well and plugged in to commercial opportunities.
Can we change our product or service during the programme?
Absolutely! Being part of Hatch, you’re expected to challenge your business idea to make sure that the product or service you’re providing can survive and succeed commercially.

What if I live outside of Auckland can I still apply?
Yes, you can!
How many people can apply for one business?
You can have a team of up to 5 people.
When does it start?

What school qualifications do I need to apply for the Hatch programme?
It would be ideal if you have University Entrance but if you haven’t, don’t worry! There are other factors that we can look at.

It is based at 101 Station Road, Penrose, Auckland
